Hey There,
So today I wanted to take you through one of my evening make-up looks! I have provided pictures so you can see the process step by step, as I get all ‘glammed’ up! Now I tend to be a bit lazy with my ‘day’ make up, and generally just stick to mascara, (especially at work), but for my evening look I tend to go all out, and when it comes to lashes, the bigger the better!
Starting with a blank canvas… (My bare faced look)
I always begin by applying my base make-up, here I have used No 7 Tinted Moisturiser, I usually use a darker BB cream but as I didn’t have time to fake tan, I stuck to my fair/medium tinted moisturiser, to avoid the ‘mud face’ look.
I then use the ‘Bo-ing’ concealer to cover up any unwanted blemishes and dark circles, and apply the ‘Base colour’ both from Benefits Big Beautiful Eyes Kit across my eyelid.
Once the base color has been applied, I start working in my ‘Dior High Impact Eyeshadow’ in color ’056 Argentic’.
I absolutely love this colour, it has a slight sparkle to it and is great for creating a ‘Smokey Eye’ look.
As you can see I start by applying the gray from the outside in, (I find this the best way to blend shadows) I will apply the eye-shadow using the provided applicator but tend to use my finger when blending the two shades together. I repeat this step using my ‘Rimmel London Eye-shadow in Black Metal’, which I also use to line the under eye.
As you can see I have got a fair use out of this eye-shadow, I cant remember when I brought it but I can tell you it was a couple of years ago at least, and I have managed to break the lid and loose the applicator.
Once I have applied my ‘Rimmel in Black Metal’, I then apply my ‘Dior High Impact Eye Shadow in 006 Chrystal White’.
How nice are these Dior colours, I just love them!
It may seem a weird way to do it, as most people will probably start with the white, but I like to apply it last and blend it in from the inner eyelid, that way I get a nice effect from the sparkle in the corner of my eye, (Just a little preference of mine).
As always I finish the look with my ‘Collection Kohl Eyeliner Precision Colour Black 1′. I like to use the kohl eyeliners when creating a smokey eye look, as I find the kohl gives a softer look than most liquid liners.
Now that the ‘Smokey Eyes’ are complete, (Minus the falsies) I move on to my eyebrows, (One of the MOST important contents of my make up bag). Using my ‘Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown’, I sculpt the brow, brushing the eyebrows up and sweeping the pencil across the brow.
The difference a little color makes to my eyebrows is amazing, (Now you dont have to go all ‘scouse brow’ on me, but a little goes a long way) it gives my brows so much definition and fullness, making my ‘Arch’ alot more prominent. I think an eyebrow pencil is a ‘must have’ for every girls make-up bag.
So to finish the eyes, I obviously go for some BIG, VOLUME, FALSE LASHES! Now this may not be everyone’s cup of tea, so you may want to go for a mascara or some more subtle lashes.
My choice of lashes has to be ‘Eyelure Naturalites Intense Lashes 140′.
And even better I managed to get two in one pack, (Love a good deal).
Now I know applying false lashes can be a bit fiddly, but a tip of mine is to just go straight in, the more you fuss around it the harder it becomes to apply, (Trust me I have experience with this). I find it better to apply the glue and position the lashes straight away using my fingers, I then hold them there for 10 seconds before checking they are ok.
Maybe not my best application, as I have managed to get glue on my lash and eye, but not to worry it dries clear and it is rather easy to cover up with some eyeshadow.
Now the eyes are complete… time to finish the look.
Starting with my ‘M.A.C Powder Blusher in Fleur Power’, I gently brush this over my cheeks for some instant color.
As always the blusher is followed by ‘Benefits Hoola bronzer’, which is applied all over the face.
And finally my ‘Rimmel Lipstick in 006 Pink Blush’.
and here is the finished piece…(Well I am nearly there)
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MY LOOK?
WHAT IS YOUR EVENING LOOK?
Lots of Love,
