Job Description
The primary focus of this position is to streamline the digitization of ongoing pipeline maintenance activity data. This position will also be responsible for locating and organizing historic pipeline maintenance records and as-built construction data.
Responsibilities include:
- Locate existing hardcopy and digital pipeline construction and maintenance records
- Link maintenance records to specific pipeline assets
- Compile historical chronology of maintenance activities for each pipeline
- Prototype workflow enhancements and new technologies to optimize migration of field-collected data into an enterprise geodatabase
- Digitize bypass piping within existing facilities
The ideal candidate will have several years of experience working with pipeline construction records and some familiarity with:
- ArcGIS Desktop or AutoCAD Map 3D
- LiveLink
- geomatics concepts such as coordinate systems and linear referencing
The successful candidate will report to the supervisor of Geomatics Services within the Engineering Information Management department. This group is developing the foundation for an enterprise GIS within the Liquids Pipelines business unit of Enbridge.
This is a contract position with an excellent chance of annual renewal.
