When Holly, a young, overweight widow, sat down next to Logan on that plane, his groan was nearly audible. He was officially stuck next to the fat chick. But something about her attitude and wry wit about addressing the elephant in the plan made him offer his services to her. Logan, you see, was a personal trainer to the stars and known for getting results. If Holly was willing to put herself through his paces - he would have a project on his hands.
As the months go on and Holly transforms before their eyes, Logan starts to take more than a professional interest in her and their intense workouts start to take place both in the gym and in the bedroom. Holly isn't Logan's "type" in any sense of the word, yet he can't get her out of his mind! And Logan appears to be just the thing to get Holly out of her rut of sadness and guilt following her husband's death.
In classic chick-lit fashion - Logan makes a faux pas and Holly shuts down and he has to work his butt off to win her back.
All in all, a predictable chick-lit, but still really entertaining to read this story about a funny underdog heroine teaching a movie star-gorgeous playboy what it means to love. I enjoyed it - even if there were no wizards or magic in it. This one would make a great vacation read for any chick-lit fan. For a first novel - Stephanie Evanovich has set the bar pretty high.
