Kerry Picket at Breitbart.com undertakes a masterful (or should that be mistressful?) analysis of a Republican party claim that the Dems are running not one but four 'pervs' in the forthcoming elections. The prize, of course, is 'Weeney' Weiner, the mayoral candidate of whom it can truly be said that he hides nothing up his sleeve - or in his underpants! Still 'sexting' like mad and with yet more self-photography appearing almost daily it seems to cynics, er, like me, that Weiner is actually running a campaign for his long-suffering wife along well established Clintonian lines, you know, ratbag cheatin' husband but faithful, sufferin' wife weepin' to the tune of "Stand by your man" - well, it worked for 'HillBilly' then and it's still working today! Expect Mrs. Weiner to make a brave and dignified run for office in a couple of years but, natch!, under her maiden name of Huma Abedin - that is, according to Habas Gold at Politico.
Meanwhile, back in 'Noo Yawk', the GOP are making the most of it as Kerry Picket reports:
The New York GOP's Lawler points to the Democratic Party's "phony notion of a Republican 'War on Women,' saying in a written statement:
Here in New York, there is a real war on women being waged by members of their own party. In the September primary, they are running Anthony Weiner for New York City Mayor (harassed women with naked photos and sexually explicit messages), Eliot Spitzer for City Comptroller (sexually engaged prostitutes, using tax dollars in furtherance of these dalliances), and Vito Lopez and Micah Kellner for City Council, both accused of sexually harassing female assembly staff members who worked for them. With candidates like these, the State Democratic Party can only be described as “The Perv Party.”And what have democrats said about this? Nothing. There is silence from nearly every elected democrat across the state, starting with Andrew Cuomo, Chuck Schumer, and Kirsten Gillibrand.
Somehow, in some indefinable way, American 'politics' is so much more interesting than ours, don't you think?
