This is my first trip to Fosters Restaurant located at Holland Village last Saturday. The restaurant is also known as Fosters Steakhouse Restaurant or Fosters English Rose Café. One of my girl friends had suggested that place as the restaurant is cosy and spacious to accommodate large group of 10 people. I had read up reviews on Fosters restaurant and they are quite well known for their high tea set. However the high tea starts at 3pm and since we were meeting at 12pm, we had tried their lunch menu instead. Fosters Restaurant is tucked at the corner of Holland Village and they serve traditional English food.
Stepping into Fosters restaurant, I love the spacious and English rustic style of the place. It is indeed a cosy and relax ambience for hanging out! Foster café serve affordable value for money lunch set too. The lunch set come with the soup, main dish, dessert and coffee or tea. The cost per lunch set is only $17.90++ or 19.90++. All of us had ordered the lunch set!

We are first served with complimentary warm bread with butter. I guess this help to curb the hunger of the customers (so sorry that I did not take pictures of the bread as the bread were taken up my hungry friends and myself once it is served).
For the soup, you can either select the mushroom or onion soup.
Mushroom Soup & Onion Soup
I had ordered the mushroom soup and I like the warm comfort soup with chunky bits mushroom in it. So tasty! Slurp! The onion soup is tasty too with the sweetness of the caramelised onions.
Pan grilled Norwegian Salmon
I love how the grilled salmon goes with the smashed potatoes.Stack with tasty long beans and boiled carrots. So healthy!
Combo grill Platter of beef steak, chicken and salmon fillet served with mushroom sauce.
The chicken and beef were tender and it goes with smashed potatoes, long beans and boiled carrot.
Oxtail stew
One of my girl friend had ordered the oxtail stew and she had mentioned that the meat was tendered and succulent. Even the long beans was very flavourful and tasty too. The oxtail stew lunch set cost $19.90++. With such a big serving, it is value for money!
Dessert: Apple Strudel With Vanilla Ice Cream
Will definitely try out their high tea soon! It will be better to make a reservation especially for the weekends because they tend to be packed. Perfect place for hang outs in a relax and cosy environment and not forgetting the value for money quality set lunch Fosters Restaurant has offered!
