First Comes Love, Then Comes Marriage…

By Slowdownandsavor

First comes love, then come marriage. Then comes… YEP! A baby! In my tummy! I can’t believe it, and I am really excited to finally make our announcement to the world! I’ve been busting at the seams, so fired up and ready to share our happy news.

When we found out that I had a bun in the oven at the end of July, I was filled with so many emotions. I was shocked, elated, ecstatic, scared, confused, in disbelief, happy, and I’m sure there were more. Tears just started streaming out of my eyes, and when I looked over and saw Michael’s reaction of sheer and complete joy, I cried even harder.

We’re having a baby!

Since that day, we’ve experienced the thrill of sharing the news with our parents, and reveling in our little secret. But along with the delight have been some rather uncomfortable moments.

Hello, Morning Sickness a.k.a. all day, all night, always sickness. Not so awesome to meet you… I started feeling really bad around week 8, and luckily, during the start of week 11, which was last week, it seems that the worst of it has started tapering off. Whew.

So far, the symptoms list has included:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Blue veins on chest
  • Fatigue/extreme exhaustion
  • Extremely emotional
  • Heartburn
  • Dizziness
  • Increased sense of smell
  • Food cravings and aversions
  • Smell aversions
  • Nails stronger and growing fast
  • Same for hair

Where I’m at right now – Week 12:

  • Fatigue! SO TIRED!
  • Food Cravings: Hi. Can I have some Pho and a quarter pounder with cheese and extra pickles, please? Thanks. Also, pickles, airheads, golden Oreos, cheesecake, spicy food, and French Fries.
  • Food/Smell Aversions: I don’t like the smell of coconut oil AT ALL, which is quite a shame… I use it for my moisturizer! The smell of coffee, my husband’s lifeblood. Yogurt. Gross.
  • Heartburn. Yuck.
  • Emotional. Crying always.

So there you have it! I am very excited to share my pregnancy journey with you guys, and hope to do a weekly update, including bump pictures and other fun things that come up!
