MCU covers a range of artists and bands. It’s what the people want! But if I’m being totally honest, Made Violent is more my taste. That is, less straight edge. After years of jamming and drinking Four Lokos together, Joseph White, Justin Acee, and Rob Romano finally formed Made Violent. The Buffalo band released their virgin EP via PureVolume and Startime International (Columbia Records) this past February.
Featuring the lyrics “Wasted time is always unforgiving/I wasted mine and now I’m on my own,” the first track off the EP is a sort of sequel to “Wasted Days” (2014). With visceral screams and jagged guitar riffs, “On My Own” is about being alone and feeling unironically good about it. The thrashing drums and blustering bass line, yet altogether somber mood of “Shadow” make it the perfect go-between song on the EP.
So take a listen, and if you can, see Made Violent on tour with the English glam rock band The Struts.
