New England sailors have the opportunity to see some really exciting racing on the Boston waterfront from June 30 through July 4. Eleven boats in the international Extreme 40 fleet race a tight course just off Fan Pier, viewable from shore, and other races include Lasers, 49ers, and J22s. And of course there will be fireworks, live music, skydiving, and lots of related shoreside activities. But the real attraction is to watch those superfast 40-foot catamarans careening around in close combat - something to really get the adrenalin pumping in those who have ever raced a sailboat!
