Ever Bilena Matte “Hot Summer” Lipstick & “Orange” Lipliner

By Blessmybag @blessmybag

Ever since Lisa Eldridge did that essentially orange-y red Keira Knightley tutorial I’ve been looking to phenomenally set my lips on fire.  It was quite risque in thought, orange on my yellow Asian skin?  Would it work?  The thought of orange-ish red lips made me gag, it looked good on other people but I was quite curious to see if it would work on me, though doubtful. I remember MAC Morange being an epic fail test and Lady Danger well might’ve been good but MAC is not in the budget at the moment.  Then shortly after I was at Metro Mall in Alabang for my passport renewal duties I came across a dynamic duo, Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in “Hot Summer” (Php165) and their nearly identical lipliner shade in “Orange” (Php100).

What resounded in my head when I spotted “Orange” was that fabulous Lord & Berry orange lipliner Lisa used on Keira, Ever Bilena’s “Orange” Lipliner is a very good dupe.  That lipliner together with Ever Bilena’s matte “Hot Summer” lipstick hit the sweet spot when blotted once, the results I tell you were off the charts.

What impressed me is how great it looked still after one meal and provided that you properly exfoliated/scrubbed your lips clean of any dry skin both the lip liner and the lipstick will glide on beautifully and stay on properly when blotted once with tissue.  The lipliner is creamy but dry enough to last (perfect in texture in my opinion, not too hard, not too soft).  I applied the EB Orange lipliner all around and almost all over the lip before adding the lipstick right smack in the center outwards direct from the bullet.  I did not make the lipstick reach the edge of the lips so that the lipliner could do the job of preserving the edge.  Do you think my Php265 (in total) drugstore orange red lip is a success story?
