Last Saturday, Pickat / SK Planet / SK Telecom very, very generously invited me to attend the StyleXStyle Asia Style Collection. Isn’t that a major mouthful of words? In essence, StyleXStyle (pronounced as “style by style”, and not my uncool way of “style ex style”) is a fashion portal by Mediacorp, while Asia Style Collection is the name of the event.
I basically didn’t know what the hell was going on until I got there – holy moly, it’s a full day of events! I was supposed to have gone for the Girls Generation and 2NE1 rehearsals, but my head was way, way too smogged out, so I spent the morning recuperating from my migraine. I figured I’d rather attend the night event for the concerts, the atmosphere, and get this – AN OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE PHOTOS WITH GIRLS GENERATION AND 2NE1! -squeals in delight-
Note that I used the word “with” and not “of” – thanks to Pickat, I actually had the chance to have physical contact with SNSD! Thankoooooos Pickat! If you’re not sure what this is – I’ll do the run-through later.
Meanwhile, since this will be a majorly photo-intensive blog entry, I’m splitting it up into several parts. I can’t edit a few hundred photos at one shot, right? Once all my parts are up, I’ll do a link
Big hall of empty chairs – we got to enter early cos of media perks. phew. In front of us, important peoplez from SBS :O I wonder if I got talent spotted? lol
The sole performer on stage at the moment: A DJ who was playing pretty rockin’ music, and who also conveniently became my test shoot subject. heh.
Testing out the Panasonic FZ200 which has frigging amazing zoom and stable images even from far away. loves.
The only proof that I was even present at the event heh. Not a big camwhore. Taken with the boys DK, Joe and Justin
AKB48 kicks off the event!
They were amazingly shrill and high-pitched, kinda like The Chipmunks.
And then another sub group comes out – I’m too confused by this time as to who is who, and which sub group is which. But the boys sitting about 2 rows behind me were clearly not confused – they were such huge fans that they were bellowing in enthusiasm.
The two sub-groups merging…
… and by now, I’ve more or less figured out the angles that I can take photos from
Too bad I was dwarfed by the various heads popping out in front of me, and thus, I hereby insert a disclaimer that I did not manage to take photos of all outfits / performances. Sigh. sad face.
The first fashion show of the night - Murua, which showcased a predominantly B&W range that’s so totally moi

I am so loving this outfit worn by Lena Fujii – it’s not a mini skirt, but rather, a peplum top with leggings / jeans. I can hides mah tummy!
Would totally wear the outfit on the right as well – perhaps I’m biased cos the model looks vaguely Korean? Hah.
Moving on to the next show, Kikka The Diary Of… or is it The Diary of Kikka?

If I’m not wrong, this is another celebrity model from Japan called Rola – so cute!
Ok, the chick on the left is SUPER hot, and she’s got some meat as well. Drools.
A blinding flash of light…
… reveals a pint-sized Thelma Aoyama
This girl is crazy animated, and in a good way too, considering Singaporeans need a lot of time to warm up during concerts.
Vaguely cute dancer spotted
Vaguely not-so-cute dancer spotted
A comparison of how awesome the Panasonic FZ200 is
I am really, really glad I lugged the FZ200 along, so that I can relive the event through mah photos
Thelma has a serious set of lungs for such a tiny girl – she can really sing. Much impressed by her.
Event coverage to be continued…
