Anyway, moving on from that sad note, I'm here today to bring you a review of a unique product that was sent to me by Nail Polish Canada. This product is called Epicare, a facial hair remover that is helps you get rid of those fine, unwanted hair on your face without using waxing, threading or laser hair removals which can be quite expensive in the long run.
The Epicare is a flexible but sturdy spring. It comes in different colored handles which is available in Nail Polish Canada website.
I've been trying out this product for 3 weeks now and I think I have a pretty good grasp at what it does. According to the video instruction, all you need to do is bend the spring and twist it while you go up against your skin. Quite simple and easy to follow. It removes fine hair down to the roots so facial hair doesn't grow as fast as it normally does, plus there's no burning sensation from waxing (which I honestly never tried before for my face!). It says that you can use this product on your upper and lower lips, chin and jaw but it does fairly well to remove those hairs around your brows. I found that at times it can't grasp some fine hairs by just bending it down and twisting, what I do is stretch out the spring against the face, release the spring so it catches the fine hair in between the coils and twist up.
The only downside to this thing is that it can be quite painful when fine hairs are plucked out especially on the first few times you use it. I found myself tearing up when I first tried it out, but eventually I got used to it, just like how I got used to plucking those stray brow hairs. The end result is really good though, despite the pain. I tried this on my mom too because she has a lady mustache (lol) which she regularly gets threaded. She said that though it was painful, it looked and felt really nice afterwards since there wasn't any visible hairs left and her skin felt really smooth and not raw at all considering that hairs were plucked.
It took me around 5 minutes to do my upper lip and my brow area, probably even less than that. I usually take my time grooming myself anyway plus you don't need to do it everyday. It will take about 3 weeks for the fine hairs to grow back (well, at least for me) so you really only need to do this at least once or twice a month.
The Epicare Facial Hair Remover retails for $15. I have a similar product that I got off from eBay for only $2 but it didn't work quite as well because the spring was flimsy and it couldn't grab the hairs properly. I think for the quality of the Epicare, $15 is a pretty good price. The amount it costs to have facial hair removed by waxing, threading or laser is expensive so this is a great bargain.
