When we heard our pal Steve OwlDonnell was hitting the beach, we thought he was checking out the surf.
Then our friends at Yelp posted this:
We're on Sandymount Strand helping @alloutdesign to #MakeGráTheLaw... #watchthisspace#lovedublinpic.twitter.com/vvabLKg7ud
- Yelp Dublin (@yelpdublin) May 13, 2015
The guys at All Out Dublin really did go all out to show #DublinInLove...with one man and a rake.
Steve says:
At the very least I wanted to do something to start a conversation. I felt the best way to do this was to use my creative skills in a way that people couldn't help but notice. Hence the rugby pitch sized message!
A lot of passers by (and a lot of dogs) stopped to see what was going on and the response was outstanding from everyone. The piece took around 6 hours of work and about the same in planning to complete. I took on most of the work but enlisted Emily from Yelp to give a hand too (which was definitely needed).
Really happy with the outcome and I hope that it gets people talking and more importantly, voting YES.
When I was publishing this blog post at 1am, Steve was just home after his six hour beach trip which had preceded a painting job, and he was getting ready to catch a flight. We're hoping he's catching some well deserved shuteye now before his next adventure.
Check out this quick lil vid they put together; the shots panning out from above to reveal the result are truly amazing!
