Employee Appreciation Day ๐ŸŒผ

By Nancy Bell @nancyfancyfree

I had no idea it was employee appreciation day when I went into the floral shop ๐ŸŒผ for work today. It is easy to get stuck in a rut at work and forget what your purpose is. Luckily for me, I have an incredible boss that treats me with res
pect and really takes the time to teach me something new each day.

Employee Appreciation Day ๐ŸŒผ
When I walked into work my boss had made me a floral arrangement and asked to take me to lunch. I was flabbergasted at such a kind gesture from her. She has helped me with so much it felt as though, I should be taking her out to lunch. I accepted her invitation and when to lunch.
We went to this very nice Italian restaurant and had a wonderful lunch together
๐Ÿ˜‹
. I realized I hadn’t really taken the time to get to know her on a personal level. We had a great conversation and laughed so much we barely finished our food. I was surprised to find out we had so many things in common, including our empty nests at home. She is such a delightful woman with a truly kind heart; I am happy I get to work with her every day.

Over lunch, she stressed to me how much I have grown over the last years and how I’ve really become an asset to the floral shop. I was so happy to hear that I am making an impact and my work is being noticed. She made sure I was aware with how much she appreciated my hard work and dedication to constant learning.

I feel honored to be working at such a wonderful floral shop; if I can even call it work.  I have fun each and every day I am there. I truly believe that if you love doing something you can find a way to make it part of your life. I never expected to have found a calling in floral arrangements and party decorations but it has helped me grow in ways I never expected to.

I found a quote that fits perfectly with how I feel working in the floral shop; “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” – Confucius

Happy Employee Appreciation Day!

Until next time,

Nancy
