Eggless Whole Wheat Oat Cookies
Ingredients:(american measuring cup used, 1 cup = 240 ml)
- ½ cup unsalted butter at room temperature
- 1 cup Castor sugar or powdered sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoon milk
- 1 cup oats
- 1 cup whole wheat or plain flour
- 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
Method:
- In a large bowl put in the butter, sugar, vanilla and milk and beat until smooth and creamy.
- In another bowl, mix all the dry ingredients, the oats, flour, cinnamon powder, salt and baking powder and mix well.
- Mix in the dry ingredients into the butter mixture and knead briefly until the cookie dough comes together.
- Preheat the oven at 180 C.
- Divide the mixture into 24 equal parts and form into round balls.
- Place on a greased or non stick cookie tray at a distance from each other.
- Bake the cookies for 15 to 20 minutes or until cookies are lightly gold brown.
- After they become lightly golden brown remove the cookie sheet from the oven. Let the cookies cool down for two to three minutes before taking them off the cookie sheet.
- They will be soft when taken out, but will firm up once they cool.
