Who said that eating healthy means having boring and unappealing meals?
I love to heat beef patties, they are lean (if made with lean beef, of course), tender and very nutritious. what makes them unhealthy is when you put them in a bun and dress them with cheese, ketchup, fried bacon or even fried eggs! That will make its caloric and fat content increase very fast!
However you can also eat your beef patties "naked" and enrich them with healthy mustard and avocado, and serve them in a fancy presentation!
Here is what I have done! (sorry about the pictures but I used my iphone)
Ingredients (serves 2):
- 2 beef patties
- 1 beetroot, boiled with salt
- 1/2 avocado
- fresh parsley
- salt, pepper, lemon juice and olive oil
- 2 tbsp. natural yellow mustard
Dice up the beetroot
and the avocado. Dress them with lemon juice, oil, salt and pepper
In a greased skillet cook the beef patties for a couple of minutes on both sides
Spread 1 tbsp of yellow mustard on each plate, lay the cooked beef patty on top and sprinkle the beet and avocado salad on top. Top it off with one green leaf of fresh parsley.
Serve it and enjoy!
