Earth to Table

By Takeeatfoodblog
Mother Nature always has a way of showing its beauty and no wonder food derived from it looks equally beautiful. Lately, I have noticed an increasing craze over raw and organic food. For those, like me, who didn't know the exact definition of raw food it is basically uncooked, unprocessed food- food in its natural state. Organic food promote healthier and more sustainable use of natural resources. So what we can conclude is that this meal was super duper healthy! :P We definitely felt healthier after eating this.

Earth to Table is located on Bronte Rd, Bondi Junction aka. where all the healthy people live. As we were eating we saw heaps of people come in after their morning run or bike ride, decked out in their sports clothing- no wonder they have that beach body, unlike me :P We arrived around 11- 11:30am on a Sunday morning and since we had a big group we had to wait around 10 minutes for a big table to free up but the staff were extremely friendly and made sure we were taken care of.

The menu has a wide selection of innovative dishes and since knowing that all the dishes on the menu were not cooked I wonder how certain dishes were going to taste or even look like! Since we had a big group, we decided to order a few dishes to share. We ended up ordering the Rainbow Pasta, Mushies, Quiche and Falafel Salad. Even though we shared four dishes between six people, we were rubbing our tummies after. We definitely could not leave without trying their ridiculously good looking desserts and they definitely did not disappoint, they tasted as good as they looked!

Give me beauty | $8.90
Picture Picture Picture There is a wide selection of different drinks, all packed with different type of fruit and organic ingredients. My drink was the green one- it was packed with vegetables and green fruit :P It did lack a lot of flavor and it would of been nicer if there was a sweeter fruit or ingredient in it to lift up the flavor. The best drink was the banana one that my friend ordered, this one had the most flavor out of all the drinks.

Quiche | $15.90
I was interested in how the quiche would turn out, since I'm used to the traditional looking quiche and its way of cooking. This quiche was definitely way more "mushy" than the traditional quiche, however the combination of the base and mushroom helped create a somewhat similar version of the quiche we are all used to.

Rainbow Pasta | $17.50
Pasta never looked and tasted so good and the bonus is that it is good for you too! The rainbow pasta is the one dish that all my friends saw on Instagram and were raving about and it definitely did not disappoint, with its sweet balsamic like sauce and soft pasta. This dish is perfect on a hot day because it is light yet very filling. It would of been nice to have a bit more avocado (says the avocado lover :P) but nonetheless this was a very simple and enjoyable dish. Picture Picture
Mushies | $16.90
Mushies was definitely my favorite dish our of the four, the main element of the dish that won it for me was the sauce on top of the mushrooms. Think of a more subtle, healthier version of hollandaise sauce and that was the sauce featuring on the mushie dish. The mushrooms was soft and chewy and complimented the sauce very well.

Falafel Salad | $15.90
Falafel is a Middle Eastern dish of spiced mashed chickpeas or other pulses formed into balls or fritters and deep-fried, usually eaten with or in pitta bread. The falafel salad at Earth to Table was a different spin on the falafel I usually eat and I was quite curious to how it would turn out. This falafel was more flaky and quite difficult to eat because once you send your fork into it the falafel ball just falls apart. I found the falafel to be a little bit bland and too dry but if you eat it with the salad and sauce it makes it less dry and bland.

Triple Berry | $10.50
The Triple Berry was also one of those Earth To Table dishes that I saw all over Instagram- come on look at the incredible photogenic cake, ten times more photogenic than me... well that's awkward. Back to the food.... the berries were extremely fresh, therefore giving this cake a kick of sweetness and flavouring.

Pear and Ginger | $10.50
The Pear and Gingery was everyone's favorite cake- look who's popular! :P The gingery was subtle but there was enough of it to lift up the flavor of the pear and create an incredible taste! There was cinnamon on the top and throughout the cake which gave the pear and ginger cake the extra little bit of spice to complete the dessert.

Banana Chia Pie | $10.50 (extra coconut ice cream- $4.50)
I've actually never tried chia before, therefore I was looking extra forward to the banana and chia pie. The pie tasted like a banana cheesecake but I felt it lacked flavouring, I think if it had something like the cinnamon in the pear and ginger cake it would of lifted or given the pie more flavouring. We also ordered extra coconut ice cream on the side, it did cost an extra $4.50, which I felt was not worth it- the cakes are definitely much better on their own.

Chocolate Doughnut | $5.50
The chocolate doughnut definitely takes the dessert pageants 'most photogenic, 'most beautiful', 'best angle', 'best dressed'.. ok you get the point :P It was basically a very beautiful doughnut! Unfortunately taste wise it was not, I can't really imagine a raw doughnut tasting nice. The doughnut was very hard and the flavouring was very unique. The chocolate sauce on top was not too bad and made the doughnut a little bit more easier to eat.
Picture Picture Picture Picture Picture Picture Overall, this was a very unique dining experience and first time eating raw/ organic food. I'm not too sure if I can say I am a fan of it but I really did like the effort put into presentation. The staff serving us at Earth To Table was extremely nice and took care of us really well. If I'm ever feeling guilty, which is all the time, about my failed diet I think I'll head over to Earth To Table for some filling and healthy food. :)
Happy eating x
