Hello Metalheads! It’s a pleasure for me to introduce a Spanish Power Metal band from Galicia called Druidas, which has released an amazing debut album entitled “Contra Viento y Marea” that you shouldn’t miss.
Druidas was born in 2004 as a Heavy Metal band. After several changes on the band’s line-up and some years as a band, these guys have been developing their style to reach the current Druidas’ style and finally consolidating the personal Druidas sound based in Power Metal.
The band is actually formed by six members with Nico Soto on vocals, Alberto Puentes on bass, Rober Fernandez and Tomas Parra on guitars, Isma Vidal on keyboards and Alvaro Santoro on drums.
In 2013, Druidas releases a great debut album entitled “Contra Viento y Marea” and I think this title keeps perfectly the philosophy of the band which we can define with next four words “stand up and fight”. You can also see these words reflected on lyrics and I personally think that these guys have succeeded and they are screaming “stand up and fight” with this recommended Power Metal album.
“Contra Viento y Marea” is an album which contains ten powerful songs that do not disappoint the Power Metal fans and a especial bonus track really amazing. The album also contains several great collaborations, Pacho Brea (Ankhara and Hybris), Hector del Villar (Bon Spirit), Pablo Solano and Juanba Nadal (Dragonfly) and Jose Rubio (Jose Rubio’s Nova Era).
Starting with an epic intro, we can find in the album fantastic songs like “Contra Viento y Marea” which in my opinion it will convert in a great Power Metal hymn, “En Tierra de Nadie” with the fantastic Pacho Brea, amazing choruses and a powerful and epic sound or “Lágrimas de Hielo” with an impressive guitars starting, nice keyboards and a fast and awesome sound, really I think it’s another Power Metal hymn.
Other great and recomendable songs are “Furia de Dioses” or the amazing “Aurora Boreal” with nice folk touches and a powerful and epic sound. And you pay attention to bonus track version “Por Siempre” with Pablo Solano and Juanba Nadal, it’s really fantastic!
Ok guys, in my opinion Druidas has released an amazing debut album which I definitely recommend to all Metalheads, I think Druidas is a great Power Metal band that you shouldn’t miss.
