Here's a new video that is well worth watching for anyone who knows someone with type 1 diabetes. A liberal low-carb diet (for example between 50 and 100 grams of carbs per day) can be an excellent idea, making it much easier to maintain normal blood sugars.
Just make sure to adapt (reduce) insulin doses.
Pharmaceutical companies selling insulin will never mention this opportunity, because they lose money with every single gram of carbs that diabetics do not eat. Low-carb diets = less blood sugar elevation = way less insulin needed = way less drugs sold = severely reduced profits for Big Pharma.
So perhaps you shouldn't promote low carb for people with type 1 diabetes if you own stocks in pharmaceutical companies. Only do it if you care about people's health.
