I have been using this food tracker to help me monitor my iron intake as well as the amount of sugar.  Both are problem areas for me.  The great thing about using this format (vs. trying to remember what I ate) is that I can see what I am eating and how much water I am consuming.   If I am lacking in iron, I make sure to eat foods higher in iron later in the day.  Too much sugar?  I can back off.  And when you exercise, it shows you how many calories you burned or earned – depending on how you want to look at it.  After my granola breakfast, which ate up a big chunk of my caloric intake, I knew I had better get a workout in and burn some of it off.  ;)

After my workout, I made this for lunch

Mock Chicken Noodle

Mock Chicken Noodle

Instead of using chicken, I use an egg to make this quick (and easy) chicken noodle soup.  The boiling water cooks the egg.  Add some leftover bits of salad (carrots, celery, lettuce) and some seasonings.  If you use ramen type noodles, throw away the msg-filled packet and use your own seasonings instead.

The kids had other plans this evening so Blaine and I headed out for dinner – just the two of us!  Date Night!

I LOVE thrift store shopping.  I LOVE those little unexpected finds.  I LOVE that I can $3.50 for a jacket that would normally cost $99 at Macys.  I LOVE that I can walk out of a thrift store with several bags full of clothes.  I LOVE that what I would have paid for one item – I can have several.  I LOVE finding brand new items (with the original price tag) and only pay $2 or $3.   Thrift store shopping!  What is not to love?!

I found the white dress shirt in the guys section at Rue 21 for $2.  I looked in that section specifically because the shirts are fitted and are long in the arms and waist.  I was going to say I love that but didn’t want to go too overboard.
