Dressed for travel – let’s go!

The girls and I headed out around 3 pm to Sevierville, Tennessee to see the 12 Days of Christmas Light Show produced by Shadrack.  Where is Sevierville?  Ever heard of Dollywood?  How about Pigeon Forge?  Great Smoky Mountains National Park?  Either way, all seven of us girls piled into the church van and headed on down to Tennessee just outside of Knoxville – a quick 3 hour drive.  When you have a van full of girls, talking about this and that and the other – the time just flies right on by!

Here is a the promo video clip…

On our way back, we got lost in London.  London, Kentucky that is.  I have to say, their downtown was lit up so pretty at 11:30 pm.  We drove up and down and back again trying to find the road we were supposed to be on.  GPS does not work well in some parts of Kentucky and road signs, if any, can be confusing – a heads up for those of you deciding to visit.  One of the girls said, “Hey!  This is where they have the Chicken Festival!”  Good to know.  Now…do you know how to get us outta here?!  The joke was turn right.  When in doubt, turn right…right?!

By this time, we were all tired and starting to get slap happy.  You know…when everything said is funny.  We finally pulled over at a McDonald’s and got directions.

London is where they host the World Chicken Festival in honor of the original restaurant Colonel Sanders started – KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) – where they fry up chicken in the world’s largest frying pan.

I know!  A must see when y’all come to Kentucky!

;)

I was home at 1:30 am and in bed by 1:48 am.
