If you’re anything like me, I just love getting new cookbooks for Christmas. I can spend hours and hours curled up reading a cookbook, trawling for ideas and inspiration.
This year there’s been a few books that I have either purchased or received to try that have excelled in my opinion, and are now firm favourites in my kitchen. Maybe there’s someone in your life that might want one of these as a gift?
The first of these is Gizzi’s Healthy Appetite. Packed full of well rounded recipes his book is great, and has everything from simple lunches to more extravagant dinner party dishes.
Next up is Jamie Olivers Everyday Superfood. I don’t know what it is about this loveable rogue; I don’t love his TV series’s but there is always something that pulls me into buying his books, and I never regret it. The recipes are simple to follow, and always turn out damn good! I’m loving the Seared Tumeric Chicken and Sizzling Moroccan Prawns!
Lastly, At Home in the Whole Food Kitchen: Celebrating the Art of Eating Well by Amy Chaplin. It is a sophisticated vegetarian & vegan cookbook with over 150 detailed recipes focusing on eating well. As something I’m really trying to do at home at the moment I’ve found this book really useful. It’s got some delicious sounding recipes and beautiful photography.
As usual, there are also some books that have come out recently that are firmly on my Christmas list this year – I hope my husband is reading this!!
Simply Nigella. The Queen of sumptious cooking this book looks a must have for foodie fans. I’m really enjoying the TV series – are you?
Nigel Slaters A Year of Good Eating. A genius. Nigel writes so well and really pulls you into his kitchen with his words
Nopi – Yotam Ottalenghi. This book has 120 of the most popular dishes from Yotam’s innovative Soho-based restaurant NOPI, all designed for you to recreate at home.
Have you got any books on your wish list this Christmas? Let me know in the comments!
