Clothing For A Cause | My Story And My Dream

By Heather Hahn @HeatherHahnn

I hope that everyone had a great Thursday so far!

Thirsty Thursday, Wahoo!… Just kidding!

Anyways, I have a ton of fun, and upcoming exciting news for you guy’s!

I am finally coming out with a clothing line that reflects “Chiffon Souffle“.

kkk
It has been a dream of mine to come up with a clothing line that reflects the blog, but not only that, I want each design to reflect you guy’s as readers as well.

Although it’s not just about having a clothing line to me, when I started this venture, I wanted 50% of the proceeds to go to my favorite charity or organization.

Currently, I have in mind, The Cleveland Clinic.

{ Hins: I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio }

If most of you know, or don’t know, I think I might of told many of you, but when I was born, I was a 3 pound baby, also known as being pre-mature, and since I was 3 pounds, by the age of 6 year’s old, the doctors had discovered that I actually had a hole in my heart…

Sounds scary right?

Well, I ended up having open heart surgery when I was 6 years old, and then I also had orthopedic surgery right after, because being born 3 pounds, your muscles don’t develop properly, so every time I would walk when I was little, I would just fall down, step after step. This took months at a time, and my mom would actually sit in the hospital with my dad and I, and actually sew my underwear because I was put in what they call “a bar cast”, where I literally had a bar across my waist, with a full on cast from my hip down.

After months of recovery, numerous therapy sessions, learning how to breathe again, learning how to walk again, learning how to really live life the way it should be lived at such a young age, this has inspired me in so many ways to let  people know that no matter who you are, what you look like, what you’ve been through, you can really put your mind into doing anything you want in life.

Since I had my open heart surgery at The Cleveland Clinic, I would love for the majority of the proceeds to go to patients and kids that actually have to go through “open heart surgery”, because it is a tough situation to go through and something you never really want to experience in life.

I still to this day, remember my mom and dad seeing me for the first time after surgery, and I asked them for a “diet coke” at age 6, but all the doctors would let me do, is either suck on a sponge, or eat plain, and gross ice chips!

I still have a scar from my surgery to this day, and actually every single time, i’m always asked, ” did you get a boob job “, because you can totally see the scar on the side of where I wear my bikini.

I am so excited to launch this project, and I hope that you guy’s will come along for the ride.

Let’s make a difference & have fun doing it!
