Clarins Moisture Rich Body Lotion Review & Ingredients

Hello lovelies,

if you are following my blog, you probably know that I dislike body lotions – I often find them too sticky and hard to absorb into the skin. I was pretty lucky and my skin didn’t require extra moisture; however, as I’m getting older, my skin needs more hydration so I had to find a body lotion that will suit my needs.

I’ve bought Clarins Moisture Rich Body Lotion in a duo pack in a duty-free. The set consisted of two 400ml bottles of body lotion and retailed for approximately 35 euros, which was a true bargain. This size usually retails for GBP39, while the standard, 200 ml size, retails for GBP30. I’ve already used up one and now I’m using the second one.

According to Clarins, this body lotion visibly minimises the signs of aging caused by sun, cold, heating and air-conditioning. Helps smooth dry, rough patches and improve skin tone. Gently removes dull, flaky cells for a youthful, all over glow and it is fast absorbing.

I can say from my experience with the product that the majority of the claims are true. However, I find this lotion more appropriate for winter, since my skin does not require that level of moisturizing during summer. As for being fast-absorbing – it definitely absorbs more quickly than the majority of other body lotions, but I still have to wait a couple of minutes before putting on my clothes.

This body lotion is a God-send for dry skin. While the skin of my body is generally not dry, I experience some dryness on my legs and ever since I’ve started using Clarins I had no problems with flaky skin on my legs. This lotion also works great as an after-sun lotion. In this domain it is comparable to my beloved Sisley Crème Reparatrice Corps. It soothes the skin, while shea butter works its magic on sunburns.

The consistency is thicker (I’m not a fan of it) – it feels more like a cream than a lotion, so you need more product to cover the entire body. I’ve solved this problem by applying the lotion on a slightly moist skin – the moisture helps the lotion to spread more easily. This technique, though, prolongs the absorption time.

Here are the ingredients.

I can see this lotion becoming a staple in my body care. I’m not too thrilled about the retail price (I doubt I’d get lucky to find it so cheap again) and I might experiment with other (more affordable alternatives), but I definitely count on this lotion in winter.

xoxo Tamara
