The latest news about designer Christopher Kane is that he has accepted the position of creative director at Balenciaga. Actually, many top names in the fashion industry had been rumored to be replacing Ghesquiere as the director of the premier fashion brand, but Christopher Kane was perhaps the very first who made a categorical denial of getting the position.French publication set the rumor ablazeAn article at one of the major news magazines in France, Le Nouvel Observateur, directly named Christopher Kane as the sure successor of Nicholas Ghesquiere. According to the publication, he is set to be on board the fashion house on the first day of December, which is the official date that Ghesquière will leave Balenciaga. While Le Nouvel Observateur seemed sure about its report on Kane’s transfer, it did not provide the source of its news. This naturally led to others doubting about the veracity of the report. Still, the Le Nouvel Observateur news sent not a few fans and believers of Christopher Kane into a fit of exhilaration and excitement since they know that Kane’s getting the creative directorship position of Balenciaga is another feather to their idol’s cap. Being able to work for this fashion institution has long been a dream of old-time and new designers. Official statement from Kane spokespersonPerhaps to prevent the rumor to spread like wildfire, the spokesman for Christopher Kane had issued an official statement that denied about the supposed transfer of Kane. While he is honored if he is indeed being considered as next created director of Balenciaga, Kane regrets to inform everyone that, as of now, he is not in any way associated with it. Hopefully, the rumor about top designer Christopher Kane at Balenciaga will die a natural death. It’s good that he has given time to dispel such unfounded news despite the fact that he is busy producing two important collections for his own labels, which are to be shown at the London Fashion Week. He is also in the thick of designing a collection for Venus, the sister line of Versace, to be presented in Milan.
