Christmas Time! Santa, Food and Wine!

By Ohellabella @ellabellarubio
Christmas Time! Santa, Food and Wine!A memory jar made by one of my best friends, with lots of little memories to open.
An exact replica of the "Evenstar" necklace that Arwen wore in Lord of The Rings from my boyfriend (because I am a total LOTR nerd and proud)
A little, gold Lindt Chocolate Reindeer.
Surrounded by butterfly fairylights that I bought as a Christmas present to myself, which I manged to get in British Home Stores sale for only £3.00! Bargain.

I love Christmas. Although, Summer is my favorite time of the year, Christmas is my favorite occasion. Birthday's and Halloween only last for one day, but to me, Christmas lasts for at least a week, right from Christmas Eve up until New Year's Day.

To me personally, Christmas isn't about the birth of baby Jesus, or the presents or spending a lot of money on expensive gifts, it's about the rushing around of the shops and trying to find the perfect presents for your family, friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands and wives and then seeing their faces when they open them on Christmas Day. It's also about spending time with all your family, dancing around your home to a playlist of Christmas songs (which are always on repeat in my house), while scoffing endless amounts of turkey and nibbles and tins of chocolates, until your fall into a food coma. It's about the excitement, the atmosphere, the decorating of the tree, watching as many Christmas films as possible and making an effort to do as much Christmassy stuff as you can possibly fit in.

It's not about who got you the best present, or how much each present cost, but about the thought that goes into it. Everyone should be grateful at Christmas because look at this way, you're getting a santa's sack full of free shit you don't need to buy yourself!

I don't know about you, but I'm one of those people who get more excited about buying presents, than receiving them myself. As soon as I buy them, I can't even wait a day to wrap them. Once I've got home I wrap them straight away, just so they can go under the tree and I can watch the big smiles form on my mum's or my dad's or my boyfriend's face, while I jump up down shouting, "Look! Presents! Your presents!" and then making them look at them again every 10 minutes.

From the moment I put presents under the tree, I can never stop looking at them, not just because I am so god damn good at wrapping, but because everything just looks so magical. It all looks so pretty and sparkly, that I almost don't want anyone to open their presents because once their opened, then you know Christmas Day will be over soon and all the magic and excitement is over for another year.

I had a lovely Christmas this year. I had a huge Christmas dinner, which I couldn't finish off (it defeats me every year!) And I received lots of beautiful and thoughtful gifts. Of course I left all my Christmas shopping to the last minute (as per usual), but I managed to do all my shopping and have all my presents wrapped and under the tree, by 21st December (which is good for me). Now I am looking forward to New Year's Eve, but until then, I will be lying on the sofa, in my comfy new jammies, scoffing penut butter M&M's and playing Lego Harry Potter with my boyfriend.

I have posted a few photos below of a few little gifts I received this year.
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas too and Happy New Year!
