Christmas Countdown! Idea #20: Making A Difference To School Kids With The Body Shop

By Joanna Koh

**COUNTDOWN ALERT: WE ARE OFFICIALLY ONE MONTH AWAY FROM CHRISTMAS!!!!***

Do you remember the time when you first went into The Body Shop? For me, it was in Secondary School, were we’ll troop over to the branch at Holland Village. At that time, the big thing (maybe just amongst my group of friends at school), was the Oceanus Body Spray. I would save up my allowance just to get that!

Thankfully, now I’m blessed enough to be buying my friends gifts instead of hoarding lunch allowance for perfume.

This Christmas, we can help bring the joy of education to children from around the world together with The Body Shop.
For over 20 years, Community Fair Trade partners of The Body Shop in Ghana, Honduras, Nepal, Northern and Southern India have been able to provide fairly paid employment to the villagers and build schools for their children.

Along with the many Christmas gift sets that The Body Shop has, there is a specially designed Gingerbread Schoolhouse made by a Community Fairtrade co-operative in Nepal, Get Paper Industries. The Body Shop is dedicating £200,000 from sales of Christmas gifts to building five schools in Ghana, Honduras, Nepal, Northern and Southern India.

The Gingerbread Schoolhouse gift set is filled with mini-sized Christmas edition goodies ( cranberry and gingerbread scented body butters and shower gels) and retails at S$29.90

Along with this set, there are many other sets and special editions available in The Body Shop which will take all the guesswork out of putting together a gift for your friends, colleagues or family.
