Christmas Cookies Before Thanksgiving. It’s Fine.

By Slowdownandsavor

So, I’m really not one of those people who has that super early Christmas Spirit that so many of our favorite retailers do. You know what I’m talking about. Those stores that are all decked out for Christmas with their tinsel, snowflakes, and Santa Clauses everywhere right after, or sometimes even before, Halloween. No. I actually really DON’T like that. At all!

Thanksgiving hasn’t even happened yet. Yes, yes. I know it’s tomorrow, but still. It hasn’t even happened yet, but… I’m guilty. Last night, my boys and I made and decorated home-made sugar cookies in the shapes of stars, Christmas trees, snow flakes and gingerbread men. Ugh. I know. Christmas cookies before Thanksgiving. It’s true. And guess what? It’s fine.

In fact, it was more than fine. It was great. We had a ton of fun rolling out the home-made dough I made following Alton Brown’s Sugar Cookie recipe, and then decorating and frosting our cookies using this super simple and delicious recipe for sugar cookie frosting.

They turned out SO yummy, and it was a super fun activity for us all to participate in. What are some of your favorite things to do in the kitchen with the whole crew?
