It is hard to find a good cheese pizza in Singapore. I find that most of the pizza in Singapore does not have enough cheese on them. Thus, I am always on the lookout for a cheesier pizza. On the other hand, as a health-conscious person, I always wondered is a cheese pizza healthy? According to CNN, pizza can be healthy depending on what kind of crust and toppings it is on. However, let's face it we get pizza as a source of comfort food and not because of our diet.
Thus, let's give in to our desires and search for the cheesiest pizza in Singapore! In this review, I'll be reviewing the cheesiest pizza I ever tasted, Overly Cheezy's fusion pizzas.
Overly Cheezy
Overly Cheezy is a new establishment that opened their first outlet in April 2020 at Hougang. They served pizzas that have the fusion of Japanese, Italian and French with a local twist. As they had a deep appreciation of cheese, the founders behind Overly Cheezy wanted to take their pizza to the next step.
Collaborating with top chefs from Japan, Italy, France and Singapore, they've created the perfect 5-cheese recipe. The 5-cheese recipe involved the usage of 5 different and unique kinds of cheese on every pizza - Gruyere Cheese (mostly used in high-end restaurants), mozzarella, Emmental, cheddar orange and parmesan. These distinct cheeses combined, turned into a flavour that explodes in the mouth.
Additionally, Overly Cheezy created unique pizzas crusts from Creamy Tomato, Milky Avacado and Pâte Feuilletée crust. Each crust has its unique elements to it. Infused with milk and avocado; or milk and tomato; Creamy Tomato and Milky Avacado Crust is the option you have to pick if you relish in a creamy and milky pizza base. If you prefer a pastry-like crust, Pâte Feuilletée crust is the way to go. The Pâte Feuilletée crust is a flaky light puff pastry made by alternating layers of dough and creamy rich butter.
Set Meal 2
There are various set meals to choose from on Overly Cheezy. In this review, I will be reviewing Set Meal 2. Set Meal 2 contains 1 large Pizza and 1 regular pizza of your choice; cheezy salted egg fries, lava cake and a 1.5l bottle of soft drink of your choice. I got their original crust for both pizzas.
The order came super early on the day in a very cute cheese packaging. It was piping hot and ready for consumption upon arriving.
Dancing Katsuobushi & Beef
The Dancing Katsuobushi & Beef Pizza is made with homemade sweet Teriyaki sauce, mayonnaise, Japanese styled marinated beef, Katsuobushi (Bonito Flakes), stripped seaweed and parsley flakes. I chose the Dancing Katsuobushi & Beef Pizza for the large pizza. There are 8 slices for the larger pizza, suitable for 3 to 4 people.
Dancing Katsuobushi & Beef Review
This Japanese fusion pizza is the perfect pizza for the Japanese food lover. There's an abundance of salty bento flakes sprinkled on the top of the pizza. The sweet Japanese mayonnaise sitting on the homemade Teriyaki sauce help balanced the thin beef slices spread throughout the pizza. The evenly baked thin crust was a plus point for it moves the focus from the crust to the superior sauce and toppings. The perfect balance between the sweet and salty flavour makes this pizza a wonderful dish to have if you are craving for Takoyaki in Teriyaki sauce.
Trufflicious Hawaiian
The regular-sized pizza comes with 6 slices. It is an appropriate size for 2 to 3 people. I chose one of their best selling pizza, Trufflicious Hawaiian as my choice of regular pizza. Trufflicious Hawaiian contains Signature creamy white truffle sauce, chicken ham, juicy pineapple and parsley flakes.

The Trufflicious Hawaiian have a sweet creamy white truffle sauce and pineapple chunks. It balances out the 5 different kinds of cheese on the pizza. The pizza was evenly baked and filled to the edges. The thin crust allows me to savour taste the premium ingredients to the greatest. The saltiness of the 5 premium kinds of cheese come to life as it was complimented by the sweetness of the white truffle sauce and sweet pineapple chunks. The Trufflicious Hawaiian is a sweet delight and puts an impressive twist to the usual Hawaiian pizza.
Cheezy Salted Egg Fries
The cheezy salted egg fries were coated with salted egg seasoning powder. It comes with a tub of Nacho cheese that was filled to the brim. It came in a uniquely decorated triangular box that awed my father till this day.

The crinkle-cut fries were covered in salted egg seasoning powder. The powder was evenly coated throughout the salted egg fries. The fries were appetizing, scrumptious and the perfect side dish to balance the different pizza flavours. The nacho cheese dip enhances the flavours of the cheezy salted egg fries, pushing its taste to another level. The appetizing aroma and cute packaging made this dish my father's favourite.
Belgium Chocolate Lava Cake
The Belgium Chocolate Lava cake brings a sweet ending to the savoury meal. The Chocolate Lava cake was overflowing with sweet melted chocolate. The sides were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. A bite of this chocolate lava cake sends your taste buds to heaven as the chocolate and cake melts in your mouth. The paradise dessert for sweet tooth lovers.
All in all, Overly Cheezy is the perfect fusion pizza for the cheese lovers. The pizzas flavours were well-balanced with the best sides to enhance the meal. Premium quality with economical prices!
