I just couldn’t decide whether to do a long(er) run or just my short jog with Dorothy so I decided just to scratch the running all together and do a Nike Training Club circuit then meet up with Dorothy for our light jog. Problem solved.

I did the Body Surge which is a 30 minute intermediate circuit in the Get Lean category. The workout requires 5 pound free weights and an 8 pound medicine ball. Here’s the circuit:

  • first warm up with 1 min high knee runs
  • 2 min straight leg kicks
  • 1 min slide and glide
  • 1 min walking lunges
  • 2 min recovery
  • then do 1 min alternating medicine ball push up
  • 1 min squats with free weights
  • 30 sec squat jumps
  • 30 sec split jumps
  • 1 min burpee to shoulder press
  • 30 sec split jumps
  • 1 min recovery
  • 1 min high knee runs in place
  • 30 sec broad jumps
  • 30 sec ski jumps with medicine ball
  • 1 min plank
  • 1 min kick downs
  • 1 min bunny hops with medicine ball above head
  • 1 min plank row
  • 30 sec knee tucks
  • 30 sec tuck jumps
  • 1 min kick downs
  • 1 min ski jump to cross back lunge with medicine ball
  • 1 min squats with free weights
  • 30 sec kick downs
  • 1 min wall sit
  • 1 min dips with legs straight
  • 1 min recovery
  • 1 min crazy ivans with medicine ball
  • then cool down with 1 min lying quad stretch
  • 1 min lower back stretch
  • 1 min standing hamstring stretch

According to My Fitness Pal, this workout burns ~300 calories!

Then I jogged with Dorothy for 1.5 miles and  burned another 100 calories.

Dinner

Max and I are doing a quick and easy dinner tonight before we meet my Mom and Dorothy at the theater for Fiddler on the Roof. I picked this up at the grocery store this afternoon in anticipation of a quick-fix dinner.

I love PF Chang’s and I’ve been dying to try their new home menu entrees. I thought since we’re rushing out the door tonight and we both really need to eat before the show, tonight was just the occasion. We both work out mid afternoon and the show will go from 6:30pm to 9pm, recipe for hunger melt down!

I’m not too thrilled about the UBER LONG list of ingredients and the 1500+mg of sodium but I think it will be really really tasty.
