If you’re ever in London, particularly Soho, Fulham, Tower Hill or Clapham I thoroughly recommend you try Bodeans, Londons Original BBQ Smokehouse. This is my boyfriend’s favorite restaurant. Its menu is a smorgasbord of American faves including mouth-watering pulled pork and brisket – all served at purse-friendly prices. My pick of the menu is the the burnt ends and pulled pork served with fries and coleslaw – my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
As with all good eateries its the little things that make the difference- the generous helping of chipotle mayo (so delish) on the side of your dish, the kitchen rolls featured on each diner bench and the little jars of toothpicks scattered around all add to the welcoming and relaxed experience.
In Soho, the upstairs is the diner, suitable if you want something quick. Here, you sit on bar stools whilst your food is served on trays, a novel experience but one that adds to the unique vibe. Downstairs is the main restaurant, better for large groups and if you want the full dining experience. I can’t speak for the others but the one in Soho is always packed, so you know this place is good. With this in mind, be prepared to have to wait a bit for a seat (groups of 8 or more can book in advance)
Bodeans does cooked takeaway and catering for parties as well, and you can buy some of their best sellers, including the ribs and the irresistable bbq sauces, to take away and cook yourself at home. Merchandise including tees and hats are also available for the full experience.
