Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge

By Bbeautylove @bbeautylove

Hello and long time no see…

Having been somewhat absent this past week I intend to start off this new week with a bang and you don’t get much bigger than Bobbi Brown. I have always wanted to try her Pot Rouge product as it is billed as a multi-use product (and you know I haven’t had much luck with these in the past) so I had hoped that someone had managed to crack this code. And it looks like Bobbi has…

Pot Rouge is designed to add a flush of color on both the cheeks and the lips. A multi award winner, I have to say I am seriously impressed. Firstly, the re-designed packaging now includes a mirror in the lid which only makes it more perfect for traveling. Although it looks small, the mirror is incredibly clear and you can easily apply this product on the go as it is small enough to carry in your bag.

The shade I have is Blushed Rose 3, which in the pan looks like a brick-red toned brown. In fact it looks rather dark. But on the skin it gives a gorgeous hint of a rosy pink flush to the cheeks which is subtle at first application but can be re-applied if you fancy turning things up a notch. The overall effect is dewy, glowy and natural. Like you have been for a brisk walk in the snow. It lasts all day, even on my oily skin and doesn’t dry out the cheeks at all.

On the lips it looks more intense and definitely more brick red in tone. It is not a vibrant bright colour, it is fresh and natural which again, can be built up for more intensity. It lasts a good few hours and leaves a soft stain on the lips so there is always a hint of the color throughout the day. The formula is non-drying and feels nice to wear on the lips. You could also layer lip balm or lipstick over the top of this no problem. It comes in 10 shades from pastel pinks to chocolatey browns so you are bound to find a shade you love.

I love the packaging, I love the product and as you know, I love Bobbi! This is great for this time of year, when powder blusher can feel tight and heavy on the skin. This however will see you right through until Summer as cream textures were all over the S/S13 catwalks. So get in there early!

Available from Bobbi Brown online, John Lewis and House of Fraser. Priced £18.00
