Besan Ka Halwa

- 1 cup Besan/gram flour
- ½ cup Ghee
- ½ cup Sugar to taste
- Chopped cashews, almonds, pistachio
- 1/2 cup water,
- 1 cup milk
- ¼ teaspoon cardamom
Method:
- Melt the ghee in a wide and heavy bottom pan. Roast the gram flour with out adding any liquid about 3-5 minutes and stirring continuously, till the color of besan/gram flour turned dark brown and the fragrance starts coming.
- While you are roasting the besan/gram flour, in a separate pan on medium heat, bring a mixture of the milk, water, sugar and cardamom powder to a boil.
- Once gram flour/besan turns dark brown(Roasted) Gently add water, milk and sugar mixture.
- Now besan starts to boil. Stir forcefully to ensure no lumps are formed. Once the besan has boiled, reduce flame and continue to stir.
- Once the water has evaporated, the besan will obtain a consistency and will and begins to come away from the sides of the pan.
- Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool to a warm temperature.
- Sprinkle the sliced almonds, pistachio.
