If you have read my Sephora Haul a couple of days ago, one of the items I picked up is the BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Splits Shimmering Skin Perfector Mineral Blush Duo. Such a long name. I hate it when a beauty product has such a long name but on the other hand I appreciate it because you would know exactly what that product is just judging by the name.
When I first published the Sephora Haul post, I have included more photos of the Champagne Splits and also a swatch of it but I have decided to take those down to give a complete review on the product.
The first collaboration of BECCA Cosmetics and Jaclyn Hill was the Champagne Pop highlighter and with that becoming such a hit in the beauty community, it was placed in the permanent BECCA collection. The second collaboration came out as a holiday limited edition release which is the Champagne Glow. The palette is a trio of highlighters with the shades Pearl, Blushed Copper and Champagne Pop. The next collaboration between Jaclyn Hill and Becca Cosmetics came out a few months ago was the Champagne Collection which includes the Face Palette (two highlighters and 3 blushes - Champagne Pop, Prosecco Pop, Amaretto, Pamplemousse, and Rose Spritz), the Eyeshadow Palette which has five shadows (Chardonnay, Champagne Toast, Cordial, Cognac, and Bordeaux), the Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid in Champagne Pop and the Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured in Champagne Pop. The eyeshadow palette was later on discontinued due to inconsistencies and was pulled off the market.
As I said in my Sephora Haul post, I wanted to purchase the face palette from the Champagne Collection but I lucked out. On a happy note, BECCA x Jaclyn Hill came out with the Champagne Splits and a couple of other new products for another Champagne Collection which includes the Shimmering Skin Perfector Slimlight in Topaz, Pearl and Champagne Pop, and an Angled Highlighting Brush. The Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid in Champagne Pop and the Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured as well as the Champagne Pop Pressed is still available in this collection.
The Champagne Splits Blush Duo have four different combinations: Champagne Pop /Flowerchild, Champagne Pop/Hyacinth, Prosecco Pop/Amaretto, and Prosecco Pop/Pamplemousse. The highlighters are 0.13 oz while the blushes are 0.15 oz.
The gold and silver mixed metal packaging is so pretty. It definitely looks pretty and expensive. Opening up the compact, the pan is divided into two with the highlighter on top and the blush at the bottom. I have purchased the Champagne Pop/Flowerchild combo since it's the duo that speaks to me the most. The peachy pink Flowerchild is very wearable and a very go to shade for every day look. Although it is pigmented, it is a shade that you really don't have to worry about being too heavy handed unlike the shade Hyacinth which is a bright poppy pink. Champagne Pop highlighter definitely lives up to it's claim to fame as one of the best highlighters in the market.
Here's a couple of swatches on the back of my hand and some photos of me wearing Champagne Pop and Flowerchild.
Really loving the color pay off and the contrast of the blush against my skin. And there's no need for a bronzer or contour as seen in these photos! This is just blush and highlighter.
This is the same makeup as my Easy Summer Makeup Look I just smoked the shadows more added lashes, minus the bronzer and changed the lips into Bare Minerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lip Color in Swag
Both blush and highlighter compliments my skin very well. Both are soft, smooth and blendable. It isn't chalky or blotchy when applied. I have no complaints about this duo. It is such a lovely product that makes me want to just splurge and get the rest of the other Champagne Splits, however I really can't justify buying all of them since I'm pretty sure I'll be reaching over Champagne Pop/Flowerchild more often than all the others.
Jaclyn Hill is one of my favorite YouTubers and I'm so happy that she was able to come up with an amazing collaboration with BECCA. I am definitely looking forward to more collaborations between the two.
Let me know if you've ever tried any of the BECCA x Jaclyn Hill products and your favorite on the comment box below.
