I’m one of those kind who’ll pause my footstep along a pathway to admire and smile at the blossoms on the roadside. Because on any ‘meh’ kind of morning, fragrant blooms never fail to brighten up my soul. What’s even better than immaculately arranged bouquets of flowers? Blossoms found in the most unexpected places, hidden corners or delivered to your doorstep by surprise are the best kind! Does that echo with you, my fellow lovelies?
It was one early spring day when I was traveling in Hong Kong with my elder brother, walking along the bustling Causeway Road on Hong Kong Island. I’d call it a typical Monday morning in this pumping urban town – the sound of car engines braking and revving greeted the commuters, the smell of freshly steamed buns and dumplings from the local eateries were lingering in the air, and neon lights flickered in a distance, with a thick cloud of morning fog making the neon signs barely visible. I swear it’d be a seriously crazy thought to think that a blooming garden was just there around the corner!
So it just happened that we stumbled across Victoria Park where the annual flower show was on. I’ve been to a few flower shows previously yet nothing beats the delight of falling into an unexpected Eden. Especially when the floral fragrance worked as the most invigorating pick-me-up after a long haul flight, almost as miraculous as a caramel macaron! And these splendid shades of fresh blooms are the most delectable feast for the eyes, don’t you agree?
