Yay, it’s my first Beauty Icon of 2013 and it’s a good one this month…
In honor of her stunning Harpers Bazaar cover this month, 2013 gets of to a great start with Jennifer Lopez! It is hard to know where to start with this Latin lovely, as she has the most perfect skin, beautifully shaped lips and amazing hair!
If you think of one thing with JLo, it is probably her glow (no not the perfume, although I loved that back in the day!) but her actual glowing skin. Golden, smooth, clear and so beautifully highlighted it looks like light is actually emitting from her cheekbones. Known also for her ‘no make-up make up’ looks; golden eyeshadow and nude, super glossy lips are staples in her beauty arsenal. But, want a vibrant red lip or super smoky eye? Jenny from the block won’t let you down.
I’ve loved her look really since she went all gangsta and started working with Nas and Ja Rule (whatever happened to him and MURDER INC??) which also co-insides with her experimenting more with color in her make up. She looks so good, celebrity make up artist Scott Barnes used her on the cover of his book all about beauty called About Face.
She is also a huge fan of super voluminous lashes (you know I love a girl who loves lashes) and you can can bet that if Jennifer Lopez is doing a red carpet, her make-up will probably be the best of the night. She is so much of a beauty icon that Cheryl Cole is blatantly channeling her in her new video, that’s how influential that make up is.
So for that Jennifer, JLo, Jen…. I salute you! Keep up the good work.
