Basic Sponge Cake

  Last Sunday I made Basic sponge cake as weekend treat.It turned out very nice and I made it without baking powder.As we all know baking powder gives very nice results in baking, but sometimes health concerns comes into my mind.So I just though if I could make basic sponge cake without baking powder.   Basic Sponge Cake   Ingredients 225 gms refined flour 250 gms butter 4 eggs a few drops of vanilla essence 250 gms sugar 1/2 cup milk Basic Sponge Cake     Method
1.Preheat oven at 180 C. 2.Break eggs in bowl and add vanilla essence.Beat well with an electric beater for 8-10 minutes or till ribbonn stage. 3.In another bowl, take butter and sugar.Beat them with electric beater at low speed for 3-4 minutes or till it becomes fluffy. 4.Add flour into creamed mixture through strainer,so it will uniformly fall in bowl.Add beaten egg mixture also. 5.Mix well by cut and fold method.Do not use electric beater , as we do not want the fluffiness should go. 6.Add milk and mix it well.Pour the mixture in greased aluminum cake tin ,dusted with all purpose flour from all sides. 7.Put cake tin in preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes.Check with toothpick ,if it comes clean ,then your cake is done.If it does not , put it more 5 minutes. 8.Once done, cool down cake for 10-15 minutes and cut the cake.
You will have basic sponge cake without baking powder.
