Avon Ideal Flawless Cream-to-Powder Foundation

By Bbeautylove @bbeautylove

Well I am back from Venice and am loving having some time to myself to chill out as the past week has been pretty hectic! While I took my favourite base of the moment with me (Rimmel’s new BB Cream, see post) I also took along another new foundation that I have been trying out.

I have always wanted to try the Ideal Flawless range from Avon, but as I am still using up all my liquid bases I couldn’t justify buying another one. So I went for the compact version instead which I thought would be great for travelling.

The Cream-to-Powder foundation is the same product but in a solid form and is a type of base I have never tried so I didn’t really have any expectations. It comes in a nice case, although very cheap and plastic it does a job and didn’t break in my case. It also comes with a sponge which you can use wet or dry which makes it great for touch ups on the go.

The shade I have is Nude and it turns out to be a pretty good match. This is a problem with buying foundation from Avon as you are never truly sure of the colour until you get it. However it comes in a wide range of shades so you should be able to find one to suit you.

The foundation itself is quite nice. It applies well with a brush or the sponge and the coverage is medium to full. It is quite a dry formula and so may not be the best thing for dry skins as it may not sit as well on parched skin. On my oily skin, it was fine and I found that the dryness of the product made it great on blemishes. It lasted well and I didn’t really need to touch it up, only on places like my chin where foundation often fades first.

It feels nice on the skin, it glides on and blends really well. It set to a velvety, powder finish so obviously no need to powder on top, which makes it great if you don’t like your skin to feel to heavy with product. I like to pair it with my normal foundation and use it with the sponge to add more coverage where I need it.

All in all it is a great one to try, especially if you have oily skin. It has good coverage, staying power and is perfect to carry in your handbag. It also has a good sized mirror inside! Now I have tried this, it’s the liquid version that is next on my hitlist…
