Atta Halwa Recipe – Wheat Flour Halwa

- 1 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
- 1/2 cup melted (ghee)
- 1/2 cup sugar (chini)
- 1 teaspoon cardamom (elaichi) powder
- 1 tablespoon almond chopped
- 1 tablespoon Cashews chopped
- 1 tablespoon Raisins
- 1 tablespoon pistachios
Method:
- Heat the ghee in a heavy bottom deep pan.
- add the whole wheat flour and sauté on a medium flame for 8 to 10 minutes or till it turns brown in color and the ghee separates.
- Add the sugar, cardamom powder and pour hot water into the pan.
- The quantity of water should be thrice the quantity of the flour, mix well and cook on a slow flame for another 10 minutes or till the sugar dissolves, while stirring continuously.
- add chopped nuts into the halwa and mix well. Keep on stirring the halwa so that it does not stick at the bottom of the pan.
- Serve hot garnish with chopped almonds and pistachios.
- You can substitute or increase and reduce the quantity of nuts and sugar in the halwa according to your preference
