Hey everyone! I hope you’re having a great week. Today, I wanted to touch on some men’s skincare products that my husband has absolutely fallen in love with. And frankly, so have I. I don’t know what prompted it, but in the past couple of months, Michael has really started to pay more attention to his body and skin health, and that lead to a lot of research on what the best men’s products are on the market today.
A brand simply named Anthony kept coming up as a leader in the category, so he dove headfirst into learning all he could about it. And guess what? Anthony products are sold at my favorite beauty store, Ulta, and online at Ulta.com. How incredibly convenient!
After a couple days’ worth of research on the huge variety of products, my husband came to me ready to place his first order. I was really excited to see him get really excited about this stuff, but I was also extremely excited about all the points I was about to get on Ulta. Mwahahaha.
Anyway, Michael didn’t start out slow with his Anthony habit. That’s for sure. The first shipment of products was pretty overwhelming: Glycolic Facial Cleanser, Invigorating Rush Hair + Body Wash, All Purpose Facial Moisturizer and a Lip Balm Mint & White Tea SPF 25. And did I mention that he opted for the humngo sized bottles of the cleanser and body wash? My word. 32 fl oz is big, and at first I was like, “Really? Really? You haven’t even tried this stuff.”
But he was confident, and after one use of the stuff, he was even more confident in his decision. He LOVED the way the creamy, non-foaming cleanser felt. It left his skin feeling fresh and tight, yet soft to the touch, and completely clean. With the Glycolic Acid at 4.9% its main focus is to remove surface impurities, while the Calendula, Chamomile and Aloe Vera nourish and soothe. Then there’s Vitamins A, C and E which nourish and protect the skin. Basically, it doesn’t strip the skin of anything good, protects it from anything bad, and prevents breakouts while fighting signs of aging. And it smells GOOD. It smells SO good. I don’t know how to explain the smell, besides just being fresh, clean and manly.
He followed up the cleanser with the moisturizer, and being a guy who hasn’t ever really moisturized in his entire life, like ever… he wasn’t sure what to do. How cute is that? Anyway, he realized quickly that moisturizing isn’t for sissies or wimps, but that it’s a really important step in making a huge difference to your complexion, skin texture and tone.
Lastly, he tried the Lip Balm Mint & White Tea SPF 25, which was, you know… it was good. It was minty fresh and creamy, but it didn’t really soak into our lips. It felt pretty waxy and didn’t totally live up to my expectations.
The first time he used all four of his products, he came out of the bathroom glowing, and was so amped to have me feel his face, and smell his hair. Mmm… Amazing. The 32 fl oz bottle of Invigorating Rush Hair + Body Wash was another wise investment. This paraben-free, 2-in-1 formula from Anthony skincare cleanses and conditions hair and body in one step. Easy peasy. The unique alpine wood scent is very clean and masculine which will invigorate your body and mind. It’s a perfect all-in-one product that soothes the body.
Michael fell in love with all things Anthony Skincare and after his second go-round with the products the next day, he sat down with me at the computer preparing to order more.
His second order included their Facial Scrub, Wake Up Call hydrator, Blue Sea Kelp Body Scrub, High Performance Vitamin C Facial Serum and some Alcohol Free Deodorant.
OHHH. MY. GOSH. OK so at this point, I think I need to make something perfectly clear. I tried all of these products out myself, and continue to “test” the face products for myself on a near daily basis. Shh. Don’t tell. Honestly, I can’t help myself, and I feel like a LOT of women can’t help themselves. It even says so on the bottles. “Developed for men. Borrowed by Women.”
So while I was impressed with the soothing and comforting cleanser formula, I wasn’t at all prepared for what was about to happen with the new products. And neither was my husband.
That. Facial. Scrub. Is. Life.
First of all, it smells amazing. AH-MAY-ZING. After Michael used it the first time, I could smell a faint lingering scent of joy. It just made me happy, and I pretty much huffed his skin right off his face. It’s a blend of citrus/orange and just fresh. Like, Ahhhhhhh…. So good.
He then put a thin layer of the Wake Up Call over his face, and judging from his face alone, I could tell it was intense. It’s cooling, invigorating, and energizing to say the least. The Aqua Cacteen replenishes dry, dehydrated skin, and Green Tea reduces puffiness and inflammation. Caffeine, an anti-fatigue ingredient, stimulates and firms your face, while Menthol wakes you up in a flash. And once again, we’ve got another winner in the scent department. But holy cow, it’s QUIIIITEEE invigorating. Especially after using the exfoliating orange scrub. It’s a whole new world of WOWZA! WAKE YA UP!
Then there’s that High Performance Vitamin C Facial Serum which contains Stabilized Vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant helps skin to appear smoother, brighter and more firm. Polypeptides help retexturize skin, cucumber extract soothes, licorice extract helps even skin tone. It doesn’t smell as good as the rest of the products, and it is the first product here that I didn’t notice a true difference after using. It was actually kind of sticky, but it once it was all dry, our skin felt moisturized and supple.
During his next shower, Michael used the Blue Sea Kelp Body Scrub, and both liked it and was frustrated by it. Basically, it’s an amazing deep cleaning formula that will rejuvenate your skin and prepare it to absorb moisture. It will eliminate any rough flaky patches and polish your body, leaving a smooth and even surface.
And yeah, it does all that. But unfortunately, he wanted the 32 fl oz-er, and those big ole bottles come with pumps, and somehow in shipping, the pump broke. Dangit. So it’s really hard to get the stuff out easily. Plus, we couldn’t really figure out how to use it. Loofa? Sponge? Hands? How in the WORLD? Michael just went for it and tried it once with a loofa, which didn’t work for him, and decided that hands were the way to go. It left his skin feeling hydrated and clean, and once again, they hit the mark on the scent. This one was more “soapy” smelling than fresh, but it still smells good.
The final product in Michael’s Anthony collection is the Alcohol Free Deodorant. It’s a no nonsense Alcohol Free Deodorant that effectively prevents odor while providing the all day protection that you need. Its aluminum and alcohol free formula prevents under-arm staining and it does not sting or dry out skin. This must-have item is a clear solid stick which does not mark or stain dark clothes.
It smells SOOOO GOOOODDDD. Like mentholrific, minty joy. It just smells revitalizing, energizing and cooling. This is the only product that I haven’t tried for myself, and I probably won’t. I mean, I’m happy with my Dove, and don’t like the idea of sharing deodorant for some reason. I mean, we share everything else, but yeah… no. Not going to happen.
So after a month of solid daily usage, what products are our favorites? Here’s our top 3:

So after a sustained amount of time using these Anthony skincare products, my husband isn’t turning back. His skin texture and tone have evened out, and it’s soft to the touch. He has had no breakouts since starting his new skincare regime, and just his overall complexion appears younger and healthier. No joke. I’m insanely impressed with this line, that’s for sure. Maybe that’s why I keep “testing” it out.
He has a few other items that he has his eye on from their versatile line of skincare products, and the ones that he has? Repurchases are in the future. Most definitely. This brand is wonderful, and the quality is so there. We have grown to trust, rely on and enjoy all things Anthony Skincare, and look forward to exploring more that they have to offer.
