Our arrangements for New Year's Eve consist of various old friends all contributing different courses to an evening feast ('dinner' is hardly the word) which is held in the home of the couple with the biggest house - so that let's me out! Alas, disaster struck this year when our hostess fell ill at the last moment and thus New Year's Eve was postponed - until this weekend. The 'Memsahib' is i/c puds and already I see that a home-made meringue has appeared waiting to be filled with cholesterol-enhancing goodies. For my part, I am the acting-deputy-assistant 'nibblies' chef! I tell you, my 'nibblies' are drooled over by those lucky enough to be in the same room with them. (Andra, do pull yourself together and take that dreamy look out of your eyes, I promise I will show you my 'nibblies' one of these days!)
So all this is by way of telling you that this weekend is not just a bit of a write off but a total one! We have visitors staying for the event and I am certain to be walking wounded tomorrow. Thus, my blogging will be minimal - so it's not all bad!
