Animal Care

By Yougottabegorgeousx @yougottabgorgex
Hello, so this is a different type of post today but it is one that means so much to me. When I was 6 years old I got two kittens for my birthday. They came from an animal home in Lancashire. And now I am 15 and this home still means so much to me. I volunteer there and it moves me every time I go. I started to volunteer there as part of the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme but I have enjoyed it so much I have continued to go and I will be helping out at an open day within the next month. The home takes in many animals, mainly cats and dogs but it does take birds, ferrets and rats as well as many others. Some of the animals are there for so long that they end up having to be put down as they become so sad and lonely. Many of the animals have been treated horribly in their lives and animal care tries so hard to make them better, but sometimes it can not be done.
Animal CareThere is one particular dog who has really touched my heart, her name is Jess and she is the most beautiful Greyhound I have ever seen. I can not take her home as we have cats but I would in a second if I was allowed. She has been in animal care for well over 6 months but she can not find a home. She is so sweetly natured and is just beautiful.
JessAnother dog who means a lot to me is Jet. When I first began volunteering he was petrified of any person as he had been treated so badly. Whenever we went outside his cage to say hello he would wimper and hide behind a wooden fence that had been put in for him to make him feel safe. This was so upsetting as he was the most beautiful dog and he deserved so much more. The volunteers weren't allowed to walk him as he was very large and powerful and if he got scared he could get violent. But in December last year he finally found a home. This is because Animal Care helped him overcome his fears and helped me open up his heart and trust again. Animal Care
