Hello guys! I bring you today a fantastic Symphonic Metal band from Spain called Angélida which tomorrow is releasing their new single entitled “Naufragio” from their incoming new album.
Angélida was born in 2006 when José Antonio Benavente, composer, lyricist and drummer meets with Javier Férrandez (guitarist) and they start this interesting musical project based in Symphonic Metal.
Their first release in 2007 contains nine tracks and it was entitled “Decanimae”, which I think is a recommendable first album with fantastic songs like “Almas Gemelas” with an impressive starting, a nice melody and awesome ochestral arrangements or “Crisálidas de Fe” with great keyboards and guitars, you can also pay attention to “La Reina de Corazones” with an atmospheric intro and a really nice and powerful melody or “El abismo Del Silencio” and the fantastic final track “Testigo Del Dolor”, a catchy and powerful song which I recommend you listen. But we mustn’t forget the amazing and sweet female voices along these nine tracks, which gives an impressive personal dynamism to each one of the songs on the album.
It is not surprising that this fantastic debut album “Decanimae” got several awards like Best Young Proposal, winner in the San Esteban de Gormaz contest or finalist in Enróckate 08, and the excellent critics that the album achieved in the musical scene.
After several changes in band’s line-up in 2008, the band returns to the studio recording and finally they release a new album entitled “La ciudad De Los Pájaros”, a conceptual album with highly recommended song like “Sangre De Mi Sangre”, “Hasta El Fin Del Mundo” or “La Conjura”, an atmospheric and epic song with amazing voices and fantastic ochestral arrangements. I also recommend you “R&P” and the powerful “Queens Of Hearts”, which is a great english version of “La Reina de Corazones” included on their previous album. I think this second album is a very good release from Angélida which I recommed you.
In 2012 these guys release their third album entitled “La Liga Onírica” with the collaborating of many musicians. After you have listened to it you can say that these guys have been overcome with this incredible Symphonic Metal release. I think this album is really amazing, it’s full of excellent orchestrations and it has really a great work on vocals with diferent collaborations. I recommend you don’t miss “La Liga Onírica”, in my opinion is a Symphonic Metal masterpiece that you should listen, which contains great and epic songs like “El Escapista” with its nice folk touches or the powerful track “Alguien” with the amazing Diego Royo (Evernight) collaborating on vocal, really fantastic! You also pay attention to “La Gran Hazaña”, I think it’s an excellent and epic track with great female voices, nice orchestations, amazing guitar solos and glorious collaborations on the fantastic choruses, we can see again to Diego Royo and others doing an amazing job.
At this moment Angélida is going to surprise us with some new singles which they are going to release them next months along 2014. And tomorrow they are releasing their fantastic new official single entitled “Naufragio” which you souldn’t miss!
