I finally caved in and bought the Modern Renaissance palette during the Sephora VIB sale which allowed me to get 20% off in my purchases. Going back to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette, this palette is a warm palette which focuses on pinks, reds and oranges. The palette has a good mix of mattes and metallics. Actually the palette is made up of all matte shades except for two metallic shades that are great highlight and all over lid colors and one satin shade.
Tempera is described as a beige with an ultra-matte finish. This shade is very pale on my skin tone and comes out with a pinkish undertone.
Golden Ochre is described as an earthy yellow with an ultra-matte finish. Perfect description that reminds me of golden clay pots.
Vermeer is described as an iridescent shell with a metallic finish. It is a peachy-pink metallic shade that I like putting in my inner corners since it is definitely brightening.
Buon Fresco is described as an antique lavender with an ultra matte finish. This shade is a very pale purply taupe that has a gray undertone.
Antique Bronze is a metallic sable with a satin finish. This particular shade is a beautiful dark bronze shade however it isn't metallic nor satin in my opinion. It definitely seems more matte to me.
Love Letter is a raspberry with an ultra matte finish. Definitely a bright pop of color that a lot of people stay away from but this is such a pretty shade.
Cyprus Umber is a dark coffee shade with an ultra matte finish. This is the darkest shade in the palette that is great for defining and deepening the looks that you create with all the other shadows. I am not a huge fan of black shadows in a palette and I personally go for deep browns for creating definition on my eyes so this is a perfect shade.
Raw Sienna is a neutral amber with an ultra matte finish. This shade together with Burnt Orange are great transition shades that suits all skin tones.
Burnt Orange is a deep orange with an ultra matte finish. Love this color as my main transition shade.
Primavera is a shimmery gold with a metallic finish. This is exactly as described. It is a great all over lid shade and compliments all the other shades in this palette whether you want to go taupey-neutral, warm pink or orange.
Red Ochre is a sienna with an ultra matte finish. Going for the red eyeshadow color scheme can be tricky but you're good to go with Red Ochre either as a primary lid shade, a transition shade or a defining color.
Venetian Red is a crimson with an ultra matte finish. A reddish pink shade that pair quite nicely either with Red Ochre or Love Letter.
Warm Taupe is an earthy gray with an ultra-matte finish. A brown-grey if I should describe it. A good neutral to cool transition shade if you want to go the cooler route if you're tire of all the warm shades.
Realgar is a brick shade with an ultra matte finish. As much as I love this shade I don't think I've given this as much love as the other shades. This is a great transition shade as well if you're doing a warm orangey-red look.
The palette also comes with a dual ended blending brush but I honestly think this is not an exceptional brush. It does okay with blending shadows but it is too scratchy for my eyes that I don't even use it. I wish they would have placed a different kind of brush with this palette or even a dual ended eyeliner instead. I'm not a fan of the brush and that's my personal take on it.
The palette is so beautiful and I really don't know why I hesitated so much on purchasing this one when I totally don't have any palette like this in my collection. I shouldn't even have bought that LORAC Unzipped Gold to begin with and just bought this instead.
The shadows are very soft, buttery and very blendable. They are very pigmented so you might want to be very careful with shades that you are not familiar with using like the bright reds and pinks. Always tap off your brush before application to make sure you don't apply too much and if you do apply too much, grab a clean blending brush and blend away. If you don't have a lot of blending brushes, you can definitely use the dual ended blending brush that comes with the palette since it does a good job with blending although I have to warn you, it can be a pain to use for blending because it can be a bit scratchy.
I really don't have anything bad to say about the quality and the amazing array of shades in this palette. Except for the dual ended brush that I really don't care about, this palette is fantastic. It quickly became one of my favorite palettes and I have been switching between Modern Renaissance and the Nubian Palette for my daily use.

Tempera for my brow bone highlight, Raw Sienna and Burnt Orange for my transition shade, a little bit of Red Ochre mixed with Cyprus Umber for my crease for definition and Primavera all over the lid.
Primavera for my inner corners and inner third of the lower lash line. Cyprus Umber and Red Ochre on the outer part of the lower lash line.
