The Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipsticks have become my recent favorites to reach for and in this post I’m sharing my most favorite of the nudes from this range. These lipsticks are true to their name with their matte finish, they are also richly pigmented and do not feather as you wear them. They do require lip prep in the form of proper exfoliation and hydration before application the formula is not forgiving to dry/flakey lips. I personally don’t find them drying on my lips but as I just I do the prep, which is not something I’m doing for this specific lip product I prep for every brand and every formula. If I want to soften the matte effect I’ll use my lip balm as a base and blot before application leaving just a thin veil of it underneath the lipstick, if I’m going to the matte effect something I’ve recently started doing is using my face serum as a light non-greasy hydrator to hydrate and plump without disturbing the matte wear.
A theme you’ll quickly recognize in my selections is that they are all of the peachy undertone variety, I just find that these colors tend to be the ones I consider to be most flattering on my skin tone.

Honey
Muted peach
Honey – The Beige Peach
Honey is a true soft faded peach, the warmth in the shade keeps it from greying. It’s Perfect. I consider it to be “The Traditional Nude” and to be worn with the blackest of black distressed smokey eyes. I could never find my own shade of the palest nude that looked right immediately out of the tube until now, previously pale nude lipsticks would always appear chalky or ashy on my skin.

Peachy – The Modern Nude
With the current cycle rate for makeup trends it’s hard to stay current, not that I bother much with that anyways, and what now feels like eons ago there was they massive trend and demand for the warm, pale peachy nude lipstick. I think of this color as being a classic choice for the nude lipstick lover that is really beyond the trend cycle.

Staunch
Sandy Peach
Staunch – The Naked Peach
This shade is my perfect lip color if my lips were evenly pigmented. My top lip is almost complete brown while my bottom lip is brown on the edge and pinky-peach in the center. I love to wear this color dabbed over balmed lips to give some color to my lips without looking like I actually put anything on.

Spice
Rosy Oak
Spice – The Rosy Peach
It’s a rosy nude without have too much mauve in it, nothing against mauve shades I just feel that they dull my complexion and look rather dull on me. Spice contains the perfect about of depth without going into the dark nude zone, at least on my skin tone.
