Althea A'Bloom
Life is unpredictable. In fact, the only constant thing about it is change. Change is not always bad. It could mean a positive addition like A'bloom is to Althea. In this post, we're going to touch on Althea's new beauty line, A'Bloom.
A'Bloom Beauty Playground
Inspired by Alice in Wonderland's Tea Party, I've recreated A'Bloom's Beauty Playground in my own home. The Beauty playground featured A'Bloom's latest products:
- Giant Meringue Puff
- Baby Meringue Puffs
- BHA Blackhead Blaster
- A'Bloom Mask sheets (Brightening Lemon Lime, Moisturizing Watermelon, Anti-Blemish Peach and Nourishing Avocado)
Giant Meringue Puff
The first two products that I'm touching on would be A'Bloom's Meringue puffs. Inspired by the design of meringue cookies, these kawaii pastel coloured puffs come in two sizes, Giant and Baby. These puffs are made of non-latex sponge with hydrophilic properties that allow them to expand 1.5 times is original size when dampened.

What I love about the Giant Meringue Puffs is how it not only feel soft but it was rather dense too. This helps my makeup application process to be performed more gently and comfortably.
Baby Meringue Puffs
Aside from giant sizes, these meringue puffs come in baby sizes too. Sold in a package of threes, the baby puffs help with detailed application around the eyes area and the corners of your nose.
Like the Giant Meringue puff, the baby meringue puff expands significantly when in contact with water.
The expansion of the puffs takes place quickly. As soon as any part of the puff comes in touch with any form of liquid, bumps could be seen at the area that was contacted.
Liquid Foundation Application Test
I often apply my liquid foundation with my brush for it was the fastest solution for me. Thus, I'm going to put the puffs up to the test on which application tool gives the best results.
As seen, the meringue puff gives my skin a more natural look as compared to using the brush or my fingers. The foundation looked like it's one with my skin. I guess we just found the perfect tool for everyday, natural makeup.
BHA Blackhead Blaster
Fun fact: BHA stands for Beta-hydroxy acid. It is Salicylic Acid from willow bark. Due to it's anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, it is great for oily and blemish-prone skin. Do note that BHA should not be used during pregnancy or if you are allergic to aspirin.Next product in the A'Bloom range is BHA Blackhead Blaster. The BHA Blackhead Blaster is a daily care triple treatment for blackheads, whiteheads and dead skin. It's fully packed with natural ingredients to help deeply cleanse and prevent irritation on the skin.
- Apricot Seed Powder - Remove Excessive Sebum
- Charcoal - Absorb dirt in the pores
- Tea Tree oil - Prevent Redness and Irritations on the skin

How to use BHA Blackhead Blaster
BHA Blackhead Blaster Review
The BHA Blackhead Blaster had a mix of tea tree oil and charcoal scent to it. It was quick to remove the blackheads and whiteheads at the top of the nose. However, due to the nature of the bottle's shape, it is hard to reach the nook and cranny of the nose. Overall, it's a handy product that's easy to use for daily exfoliation without harming the skin.
A'Bloom Mask Sheets
Last product in the range is the A'Bloom Mask sheets. The A'Bloom skin masks pack are made with various fruits and natural plant ingredients. They have a strong antioxidant that provides custom care solution for each skin type. These solutions were created to help strengthen the skin barrier and re-charge the skin.
- Cleanse your skin
- Apply the mask for 10 - 20 minutes
- Remove the mask and pat the rest of the essence into your skin
The masks contain natural wood extracts that penetrate into the skin easily. Plus they all give off citrus and fresh scent. The sheet masks were all made out of 100% eco-friendly fabric to improve the efficiency of the masks.
How to use A'Bloom Mask sheets
There are 4 different kinds of fruit masks pack available in the A'Bloom mask pack. Each mask has different properties to help different skin types and different skin problems.
Brightening Lemon Lime Mask Sheet
The Brightening Lemon Lime Mask sheet provides an instant whitening effect after usage. It contains high vitamin C to protect the skin from UV damage and the green tea extract help slow down and control the process of melanin production. This gives one a clear and transparent skin complexion.
Moisturizing Watermelon Mask Sheet
Filled with 92% water, the watermelon is the perfect fruit to consume in the summer. It replenishes and hydrates your body as well as strengthening one's immune system. Watermelon also contains natural amino acids like Citrulin and Betain. This help to not only form a moisturizing membrane on the skin but it leaves the skin moisturized and smooth. In addition, the mask contains Lavender extract that helps soothe and refresh sensitive skin.
Anti-Blemish Peach Mask Sheet
Peaches are rich in Vitamin A retinol. They help normalise the skin turnover cycle with retinol. They help prevent spots, renew and remove dead skin cells to provide smooth and hydrated skin. The mask sheet also helps controls the oil and water balance of the skin. Tea tree extract in the mask sheet essence helps to sterilize and take care of trouble spots and pores.
Nourishing Avocado Mask Sheet
Known as the butter of the forest, avocado's rich protein provides strong antioxidant and Vitamin E to help prevent ageing and moisturising the skin. Furthermore, avocado contains a skin-friendly unsaturated fatty acid that makes the skin shiny and more elastic. The Nourishing Avocado Mask Sheet also contains hibiscus flower extract. The flower extract contains anthocyanin, another antioxidant to prevent your skin from ageing.
Nourishing Avocado Mask Sheet Review
As I'm reaching my mid-twenties soon, I figured it's time to start using some of these anti-ageing products. Thus, the first mask that I've chosen to use is the Nourishing Avocado mask sheet.
With the goodness of natural butter infused in the mask sheet, I eagerly place the mask on my face. A chilly sensation spread throughout my skin as the mask kissed my face. The sweet scent of the mask sheet filled my senses as I feel the nourishing essence penetrates into my freshly cleansed pores. To have something fit one's face so perfectly is a gift I never thought I needed.
After 20 minutes of extreme relaxation, I peeled off the mask and tap the remaining essence into my face. Aside from feeling more refreshed and moisturised, my skin felt bouncier. I can envision this mask to be the perfect mask to use when the sun rises or when the sunsets.
Althea A'Bloom Summary
Overall, I love the range of Althea A'Bloom. My favourite product from the range is definitely the Giant Meringue Puff. The cute puff design and the dense but soft sensation to it allow makeup application with the puff to be unnaturally natural. The perfect type of natural makeup we all need.
