All About Dem Brows!

By Beautybykaris @beautybykaris

Hey There,

You should all know by now that I love a good brow. Is it just me, or is everyone becoming a little brow obsessed? I know I am! I’m all about the big, thick, Cara Delevingne type brows. Since working on the brow bars for Benefit back in 2009, I can’t help but notice every single persons brows I speak to. I always make brow contact. Now that the big brows are on trend, I’ve been noticing a few new beauty mistakes, (I sound like a right bitch now). Like I said I am all for big brows, I love the drawn in look, it gives nice definition and fullness, but you always have those people that go a step to far, and literally paint them on half way up their face, completely taking the term ‘slug’ brows to a whole new level – Ahh I can’t stand it! But I suppose its all down to personal preference, people probably look at mine and think  they are too much. You might even be reading this post now, thinking ‘who are you to judge’, as you look at my browfie pic.

I’m actually growing mine a little thicker at the moment, so they are looking rather wild (On a close up), and I have to be very disciplined not to tame them. This is where my brow make up comes to the rescue. Not only is it good to help build a more defined brow, but it will get you through those times between visits to the salon. I tend to switch between brow products quite regularly, from pencil, gel to powder. Today I’m showing you my gel to powder look, which is what I tend to do for more glammed up evenings or occasions. My friend gave me this tip, and I think most of us use it now. Basically the trick is to very finely line your brow with a gel liner, it creates a more striking and sharp finish to the brow, and makes the arch look more prominent, really shaping the face. At the moment I am using Maybellines Gel Eyeliner in 02 Brown (I love a multitasking cosmetic), as I am blonde I only line the underneath of my brow, so I have a really straight edge, if I was darker or brunette I may of even done the top line to. I then fill in the rest of the brow using my NYX Eybrow Cake Powder in Blonde, I prefer the powder on my brow as it is more natural, if I filled them in with the gel, they would look painted on and lets face it just ridiculous.

To finish the look, and get those brows looking extra ‘sharp’ I use a highlighter just below the brow line, and directly under the brow arch, this way the light reflects of it, and it really helps it to stand out. For today’s post I am using MACs soft and gentle, but in the past I have used pale pink/cream eyeshadows.
