A New Year New You Workout | Cardio Barre

By Heather Hahn @HeatherHahnn

A new year, means a new you, and yes, even though January is well…already over, i’m still considering it to be a new year in February.

Since the new year has started, I promised myself that I would set a goal on going to the gym, AT LEAST, 5 times a week. It’s not the greatest feeling in the world, when you sit by a computer all day long, and have no activeness in your life.

From January, up until now, i’ve already attended multiple Zumba classes, am a newbie to Yoga, but so far, I think it’s a great stress reviler and muscle relaxer, and have been at least going to the gym once a day for 4 days a week. I guess you could say that I am well…pretty proud of myself!

A little while back though, I was introduced to Cardio Barre. Many of you have probably done it, or attempted a class, as I know, a ton of my friends have actually been really into Cardio Barre, and I have yet to have had the chance to experience what it is actually like. I even attended the opening launch of the Santa Monica Cardio Barre, when it first opened, and I have yet to go, how sad is that?

Cardio Barre offers a variety of classes based off of a class schedule, that you find on their website here. Classes are based off of beginner and advanced, with different instructors teaching the class on different days.

The classes are a total of 1 hour long, and can have a maximum of 20 people per class, so if you want to take a class, I would suggest reserving a spot for yourself in advance. For a single class, it is $18 and can go up from there, based on the type of package that you would like, and the number of classes that you would want to take.

If you’ve never heard of Cardio Barre before, their revolutionary program is designed to burn calories like no other barre based class, or yoga class. By taking a Cardio Barre class, this can lengthen, tone and strengthen your muscles as you’re burning fat and increasing your balance and coordination.

The exercises can also speak for your torso, arms, butt and legs, well sculpting your  muscles and elongating your body.

You can take away up to 5% of body fat in a total of 8 weeks.  A variety of celebrities have also taken their classes, which you can read about here.

If you live around the Los Angeles area, or Santa Monica area, I would highly suggest taking a class at the Cardio Barre Santa Monica location. Great staff, and an amazing workout!
