Just a quick display of how we've never been safe...Circa 96, Aswan Watson, my friend since childhood years...gunned down by the police after coming out of a Barber shop and getting into his car in which the cops lied and said first, that the car was stolen.. Then it was, they thought he was armed, to he was wanted for murder. All lies... The "weapon", was "The Club" used to lock his steering wheel..Stolen? The car was in his name...Wanted for murder? No records prove any such warrant issued for his arrest. I stepped out of the corner store a half a block away and watched unmarked cars roll up and begin to fire at him without warning.. Hit by 18 shots.. My point? Be smart, be even safer is all i can suggest.. While i respect MLK's non violent disposition, marching won't resolve today's miscarriage of justice. Neither will rioting and destroying your own communities either. However, something has to be done to change the results or prevent the outcomes so many over the years have become victims.
And even after the verdict, racism will continue to exist because we look at each other as colors and not humans... In this Zimmerman case, I see a pussy with a gun who felt like picking on somebody who fit the bill of what prejudices he had previously and still probably feel. I wasn't there so I can't say what went down upon confrontation, I just know that as a grown man to a teenage kid, I wouldn't have had to shoot him. He would have quickly been mopped up and I would have took his Skittles and Arizona and kept it moving. not a joke. shout out to the free lunch era where niggas had handskills and using a gun was some last resort shit.
THE WORDS DISPLAYED HERE, WHILE THEY ARE NOT MY OWN, I CAN EMPATHIZE AND SYMPATHIZE WITH. IN THE WORDS OF THE LOX- "hurts like a bad tooth, we losing MADD youth!"
