A 12-inch MacBook Without a Fan

If the rumours are to be believed, Apple is planning to release a new MacBook Air without a fan assembly. The notebook will be a part of an ultra-slim MacBook Air line and it will also come without a button trackpad.

MacBook Air with no fan

A new line of ultra-thin MacBook notebooks is coming.

Previous rumours suggested that the notebook could have a retinal display and now, a user on a Chinese forum has unveiled that it will come with a passive cooling system instead of a built-in fan. This means that heat can be spread from a warmer place to a cooler part of the notebook, without additional energy needed to dissipate the heat.

It’s still uncertain which OS the notebook will run on: it could be iOS (in this case, the notebook could use Apple’s A8 chip) or Intel’s x86 Core series (found in the existing MacBook Air).

The source claims that this line of MacBook Air notebooks will be released soon, but that the new MacBook Pro models won’t come until September. The tipster also confirmed that the iWatch is real and that it’s still in the prototype phase.
