2013: My Rebuilding Year

By Beautybykaris @beautybykaris

Hey There,

The end of 2013, has arrived! And although I don’t have much to complain about from this past year, I can’t wait to see what 2014 brings my way.

I graduated from university in 2012, and although I was so happy with my accomplishment, and proud of what I had achieved, I soon became very lost in myself. I think most people get it, I call it the post uni blues. All my life I went from one thing to the next, school, college, university and then suddenly I was out in this big wide world. The life of a student does not prepare you for that! I couldn’t pin point exactly what was getting me down, and I spent the rest of 2012, and the start of 2013, miserable. Fortunately for me, I have such supportive family, friends, and boyfriend, that I soon realised I was being silly, and needed to pull myself together.

Working on Beautybykaris, (which I started just over a year ago) has helped me so much, I love sharing my passion about beauty with others, and it has taught me a lot to. I now have more of a positive focus, and after moving back home in August, (To sort myself out) I am now in a much better place… And that is why I call 2013 my rebuilding year, who knows where I will end up in 2014.

My highlights of 2013:

My Boyfriend finishing University, and becoming a recognised Nutritionist.
Attending my first Bblogger event with Benefit Cosmetics.
Running the Race for Life with two of my best friends and raising over £400.
Running the Great South Run, (Still not sure how I managed that).
Passing my ILM Level 4 certificate in Leadership and Management.
And of course, my Sisters engagement…. It was wonderful news to end 2013, (And probably my favorite of the year).

I was also lucky enough to start the year with a trip to Poland, to a place called Krakov, which was stunning but very, very cold. We did all the standard tourist trips, of which were an eye opener. I would recommend going there for a long weekend, just pack ALOT of warm clothes.
I also visited Devon for the first time, a small seaside town called Brixham, which was fun, and beautiful, (Pictures on my Instagram: kkbrelsford).

Alongside the standard New Years resolutions, cutting out chocolate, and shopping bans, (We will see how long I can last this time), I also plan to work hard on Beautybykaris, see some more of the world, and start a pathway to my dream job.

WHAT ARE YOUR NY RESOLUTIONS?

I hope 2014 brings you everything you want, happiness, love, laughter and fun.

Happy new year to you all.

Lots of love,

KBxx
